We participate in the Connect-US program
Tuesday, November 13, as part of the activities of the Science Week, the 1st and 2nd year high school biology students participated in the talk “Rewriting Humanity. Genome Engineering and Regeneration” by the American neurobiologist Michael Pineda.
In this way, the school participates in the Connect-US program offered by the United States Consulate in Barcelona to promote knowledge of the country, language, society, history and values of the United States among the students of our country.
Pineda has worked at the renowned MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and also at Weill Cornell Medical College. He currently works at the Barcelona Genome Regulation Center (Hospital del Mar) as part of the Fulbright Research research program.
Thanks to the talk, the High School students deepened their knowledge of the human genome and were able to dialogue with an active researcher about the dilemmas posed by new scientific advances. At the same time, they met a reference that can help them focus on their future studies and professional careers.
