Theatrical performance aimed at students in the 2nd year of high school of Mercè Rodoreda's play "Broken Mirror"

On January 28, the 2nd year high school students went to see a theatrical adaptation of the play by Mercè Rodoreda, Broken mirror. This is a very significant work for students, as it is content ofexam at PAU.

Broken Mirror is a novel divided into three parts, which tells the story of the Valldaura-Farriols family. It is a novel where you gradually get to know the characters with visions of their past while seeing their actions in the present.

The theatrical adaptation of Broken Mirror was very different from the structure of any other play. This was represented by only two actresses, with the roles of Teresa and Armanda, who, through a dialogue, remember, with an album of photographs, all the moments lived. They talk about everything from the happiest moments to the saddest moments. Unfortunately, Teresa ends up dying, leaving Armanda alone to narrate her end.

But the visit to the theater of Sant Andreu it didn't end there. The students had the opportunity to participate in a conversation with the actresses to clarify any doubts regarding the novel and also to hold a debate together with students from other schools. A very good occasion, since the actresses knew the novel perfectly and this allowed them expand your knowledge on Broken Mirror and also on Mercè Rodoreda.
