Rita Martí school student, Outstanding Baccalaureate Award

Rita Martí, a former student of the school, has been recognized with the Extraordinary Baccalaureate Award thanks to her great academic career last year. Rita is included among the 44 students from all over Catalonia that the Department of Education has officially recognized for their excellence in high school studies.

The Extraordinary Baccalaureate Awards, created in 1999, are the official recognition of the merits of students who demonstrate special preparation in these subjects. An extraordinary award is granted for every 1,000 students or fraction over 500, in the second year of high school, in the academic year immediately preceding the one in which the tests are held. Students who receive this Award can apply for the National Baccalaureate Award.

The winners will be exempt from university fees during the first year, will get a free place during the next year at the Official Language School and a stay at a reference research center. In addition, they can qualify for the National Baccalaureate Award given by the Ministry of Education among winners from the rest of the state.

The event, which took place at Palau de Pedralbes, was attended by the Minister of Education, Josep Bargalló, the secretary of Educational Policies, Carles Martínez, and the general director of ESO and Baccalaureate, Josep Vallcorba. During the award ceremony, Iñaki Permanyer, PhD in demography from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, gave a lecture on scientific research in the social field. The event was also attended by the director of Secondary and High School, Carolina Ramírez. Rita was one of the two students who gave a speech during the event and who received the personal congratulations of Councilor Bargalló.

Let's remember that, in addition to this award, Rita was already recognized at the end of last year as the Barcelona student with the best grade in Selectivity, with a final grade of 9.8.

Congratulations, Rita!
