Pure entrepreneurship and young people with a lot of desire and innovative ideas. This is how the XIII edition of the mini-companies program organized by the Junior Achievement Foundation during the 2018-2019 academic year where up to 6,000 secondary and high school students and vocational training have taken part in 170 educational centers throughout Spain. The students, advised by teachers and professional volunteers, have developed more than 1000 entrepreneurial projects. The 18 best teams have been selected by participate in the national competition, this competition which took place on May 7 and 8 in Madrid.
One of the selected companies has been WHO ARE WE?, a company with a clear and distinct purpose. Five entrepreneurial students they developed a precise idea about disconnecting from technology through a board game for families, where you get to know your family more than you do and put your cell phones aside. This idea came out everywhere from Ikea's ad this past Christmas where they clearly reflected one of the obvious problems in the family as a result of the technology that surrounds us.
It has been a game made with organic materials, using the Montessori methodology enhancing learning with colors, touch and creativity. Madrid opened the doors to these entrepreneurs, but go out into the real world. There the learning was very high, thanks to how Junior Achievement developed this idea that after 13 years continues to be successful and continues to motivate the students of their potential and their talent because it is proven that with work and dedication anything is possible get During the first day, the students presented their projects defining their viability and sold their products at a fair open to the public at the well-known station of Madrid Porta d'Atocha.
Once these activities were finished, the students were able to enjoy the city of Madrid with their prospective groups. In addition, the foundation of this mini-companies program offered all the mini-companies to participate in a collective activity in the neighborhood of letters, in order to improve relations between students from different parts of Spain. Activities, learning and fun were what all the participants experienced playing in the gymnasium proposed by Junior Achievement on the great writers of the golden century of Spanish literature. Once that day ended, on March 8 Junior Achievement called all the mini-companies with their manager to the auditorium of La Fundación Rafael Del Pino where the award ceremony took place and where the first winner would be known would go to the European competition of mini-companies. A unique and irreplaceable experience that the first year students of the Padre Damián school in Barcelona have had with their mini company QUI SOM?, the product that has led them to live this experience and this way of learning another way For them, a dream come true.
