The older ones from the school visit the UIC
The 2nd year high school students visit the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya
This week, the school's older students left the classrooms and visited the two UIC campuses, in Barcelona and Sant Cugat del Vallés. To reach the science and education campus, located in Sant Cugat del Vallès, the UIC provided a bus. The students from the humanities and social sciences branch walked from the school to the campus, which is located in the Sarrià area.
The visit took place in the morning, and was of great help to them in getting to know the university, its educational offerings and the degrees it offers up close.
According to Paula Cortés, a science student at the school, "It was an outing that helped me a lot to clarify what degree I will study next year. We did a "CPR" activity, in other words, these are the steps that a person must follow to resuscitate another person who is unconscious, before the ambulance arrives."
Blanca Morales, Paula's science classmate, says "The activity was very enjoyable and in general we really enjoyed it. The campus facilities were very modern and "cool""In general, the students who spent the day at the science campus in Sant Cugat really enjoyed the visit.
Upon arriving at the Barcelona campus facilities, they were welcomed with a small breakfast and later went to the university auditorium with students from other schools. There, two girls from the center gave a talk and a brief presentation of the University, and later all the students played a short game with the application. Kahoot, activity for which, the school congratulates the winner of the game and student of the Padre Damián school Dani Carretero who has been rewarded with a batch of pencils and pens from the campus.
Once the game was over, the students were divided according to their personal orientations, and were guided through the campus facilities with teachers from the center.
Alejandro Castillo, a 2nd year high school student at the school and future student of Advertising and Public Relations, has done an activity and tells us “It was a very fun activity, where we had the opportunity to test our creativity within marketing"
The school students, who finished their visit at noon, all of them shared their opinions of the University. In a general perspective, the students appreciate outings of this style, and ask their tutors to do more of them, as they are of great importance in determining their personal academic future.
