Trilla, Vega, Casanovas, Rodoreda and Blanco, in the Absolute Futsal World Cup

During the days 1-7 of April, the Futsal Absolute World Cup was played in the Argentine region of Misiones. In this competition the Catalan team was present with five former students of the school and current players of our senior teams. Nacho Vega, Alex Trilla, Dani Casanovas, Eric Rodoreda and Oscar Blanco enjoyed this great experience on a personal and sporting level.

At the end of the competition, Catalonia obtained the best historical ranking in a world championship as it reached sixth position. In the group stage, they won all three matches by 3-1, 11-0 and 11-1 against France, United States and Nepal respectively. With these results, they reached the quarter-finals where they could not beat the South African team and ended up losing by a score of 7-3. Finally, in the match for fifth and sixth place, Catalonia was defeated by one of the aspirants to win the title, the Colombian national team, by a score of 8-1.
