We collaborate in the eradication of the ailant

As part of the Community Service project, a number of 4th grade ESO students have participated in the Door to Door campaign to eradicate the ailant, an invasive plant that is spreading rapidly through our forests, especially in Collserola .

His task consisted of going around the houses in the Vallvidrera district of Barcelona to detect if we can find insulation in the various properties. If so, the students have informed the owners about the situation of this invasive plant and have taken the data from them so that the technicians of the park can contact them and go and do the treatment against the plant.

The collaboration with the Collserola park is part of the sponsorship project for the Vallvidrera marsh and adjacent areas that the school launched three years ago. It is a very well-valued project both by the students who participate, because of the direct contact with nature and because they feel useful in the work to improve the park, and by the Collserola consortium itself, which is very grateful for the work done by the volunteers and that it goes along the same lines as the actions that are proposed from the park itself.
