Exchange with students from Caen (France)

Almost 890 kilometers separate Barcelona from Caen, two cities where one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, French and Spanish, are spoken. About twenty Spanish students study French at the Padre Damián school, and about twenty French students study Spanish at the Saint Pierre school. This year an exchange took place between the two schools to improve the level of the languages that are studied in each school respectively.

Firstly, it was the French students who came to Barcelona, this happened the previous week. They arrived at Barcelona airport on Saturday 30 May at night and each family welcomed their respective family. Sunday was a free day, that is to say, each family did what they wanted with their corresponding one. During the week, they had to get up early, as if there was a normal class, but really, there was no normal class. This exchange has not only helped the French to improve their Spanish, they have also gotten to know the best-known and most beautiful tourist spots in Barcelona, doing varied and entertaining activities and visits.

It has been an intense week in which a good friendship has been established between the French and the Spanish thanks to the teachers who organized this exchange. Activities include visits to the Sagrada Família, Casa Milà or La Pedrera, Plaça Catalunya and many more places. Without a doubt, the place most liked by the French, and not only for them, but also for the Spanish, was the visit to Camp Nou and the ice rink. It was a great day, where we skated for a long time and then, we visited the Barcelona Futbol Club museum and also entered the stadium itself.

With sadness, the Spanish said goodbye to the French on the morning of April 5 at the airport. This exchange does not end here, there is still time for the Spanish to visit Caen in June, where the friendship established between the French and the Spanish will be reunited. Without a doubt, a very productive exchange and an unforgettable experience.
