Guillermo Adroher, under-20 World Cup winner with the futsal team
Between November 18-26, the Under-20 Futsal World Cup took place in the Colombian city of Valledupar, bringing together the best world teams. In this competition the Catalan team was present with a former student of our school and player of our senior teams: Guillem Adroher.
A few months ago we already announced that the Catalan team had been proclaimed European champions, and this time, we have to announce that the World Cup has ended as the 4th best team in the world. After more than ten days of the Championship, our player Guille comments the following:

My experience in the World Cup in Colombia has been, without a doubt, the best of my life in terms of sport.
The European victory in February made us start with a common goal: to try to reach as high as possible in this new challenge that was presented to us. This goal was initially to face the group stage and reach the third match of the league with possibilities to qualify for the quarter-finals, that is to say, to rank Catalonia among the 8 best under-20 teams in the world.
With this mentality we set off for Valledupar, the host city of the tournament. From the first moment we felt very welcome: the people were very kind to us and, above all, the SPECTACULAR Coliseo Cubierto Julio Monsalvo, the home stadium of the matches.
After an impeccable championship, despite falling in the semi-finals to the favorite, we finished the competition in 4th place. The pride for the work done was infinite, we had left our skins, we were more than proud of our feat. In addition, we demonstrated to the other federations the bravery of the Catalans, for this, we received many congratulations.
In summary:
CATALONIA WAS THE FOURTH BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!
A historic event for the federation.
Our trip ends here, we returned to Barcelona with a smile from ear to ear and more than satisfied. Personally, I had been part of a truly unrepeatable adventure that was made possible by the opportunity I was given 2 years ago, when I started being part of Senior A at school. Without my teammates and the demands of each training session, it wouldn't have been possible.
Many congratulations to the selection and especially to you, Guille!
