The importance of hugs

There is nothing nicer than family warmth and, for that reason, after having enjoyed Christmas as a family, the return in January is somewhat difficult... The children miss the days spent with their parents.

There was a child who the first week after these holidays was very sensitive, he cried easily and with great pain. Every time she cried, I asked her what was wrong and she always got a "I don't know..." answer. So one morning, I took him in my arms and asked him again what was going on, why was he crying, how was his heart. He looked at me and told me that his heart was sad because he loved his mother. We looked at each other for a few seconds in silence and he said to me:

  • Since I don't have my mom, can you give me a hug?
  • Of course I give you a hug! - I answered him.

So, he sat on my lap and I hugged him. Little by little he was making a ball between my arms and, after a deep sigh, I noticed that he was already calmer and I asked him if he was better.

  • Yes, my heart is no longer so sad, but I still want to be with my mom.
  • I understand you, I also miss being with my children, playing with them...

And to my surprise he asked me:

  • Do you want a hug?

I don't even have time to answer when I already had it again in my lap giving me one.

  • What are you better at? I gave you a super hug!

And the truth is that they are very comforting! It can't be said that we ended the whole class hugging each other to feel better, but, to my surprise, a little voice was heard saying:

  • Hey, we have to do the assembly!

Y otro peque answered him:

  • We will do it tomorrow, because this is more important.
