We collaborate in the Great Collection

On November 30 and December 1, the Great Food Collection took place, an annual event in which the public is called upon to contribute food to all those who need it. The 4th grade ESO students who we chose, as part of the community service project, volunteered in two supermarkets to inform everyone who entered about the food collection campaign and how they could contribute. We managed to fill several "tubs" (very large boxes) with all the products that were collected over the course of the two days.
All the "tubs" collected from supermarkets in Barcelona and the surrounding areas were centralized in the warehouse of the large food collection, located in the Franca area. On Tuesday the 4th, all the 4th grade ESO students continued the process we had started the previous weekend. If throughout Friday and Saturday we collected all kinds of food, on Tuesday it was time to arrange them by type, in smaller boxes and leave them ready for distribution among the entities that work for the most disadvantaged.
The work was intense, but very rewarding. We were doing various tasks, which we were turning to each other: as soon as we assembled boxes, as we filled them with the products that came to us from the distribution belts, which at the same time, had been placing there the colleagues who emptied the "bathtubs ". A fully cooperative task in which each of us was essential for everything to work properly. We also had the help of the teachers and the warehouse volunteers, who guided us at all times on what to do and how.
We left very satisfied with the large number of boxes we had made and what this meant, because thanks to us, everyone who needed it would receive the products they need to be able to spend the best possible time these days, especially the days of christmas parties
