{"id":12913,"date":"2019-11-25T10:09:49","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T09:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/padredamiansscc.org\/?p=12913"},"modified":"2025-04-23T10:05:36","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T08:05:36","slug":"nous-tallers-a-leso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.padredamiansscc.org\/en\/nous-tallers-a-leso\/","title":{"rendered":"New workshops in ESO"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>This 2019-2020 academic year, the Padre Dami\u00e1n Sacred Heart College is proposing one <strong>novelty<\/strong> very outstanding in all the courses of the <strong>secondary school<\/strong>: we have reorganized the schedule so that our students have two weekly slots to work intensively on reading comprehension and general culture.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The world we live in changes very quickly and it is essential that they know what is around them and can understand why it is happening. Therefore, apart from all the learning that is achieved through the subjects, which is already on its way here, this year we wanted to give a <strong>reinforcement<\/strong> because we believe that only through ensuring a full understanding of the facts and the reasons that explain them, students will be able to position themselves on them and act accordingly, acquiring a decisive capacity to be <strong>active citizens<\/strong> and with <strong>criterion of the world<\/strong> that they will have to live.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>For this reason, then, we have created the Culture Workshop and the Reading Workshop, two spaces of 30 minutes each week that have an impact on the schedules of all students from 1st to 4th ESO.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On the one hand, the <strong>culture workshop<\/strong> aims to cover, through small pills, those topics that are of general interest but, for whatever reason, are not explicitly worked on in the subjects. The intention, therefore, is that the students have some time in which they can expand the basis of their general knowledge and that they can learn more about the world in which they live.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On the other hand, the <strong>reading workshop<\/strong> aims to strengthen reading comprehension as a basis for better understanding and achieving what is worked on in the other subjects. In addition, the suggested activities aim to help students structure their ideas and improve spelling and their written and oral expression.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We are convinced that these new proposals, which have been intensively worked on and prepared by the teaching teams, will bear fruit very soon and we will see how the students&#039; judgment of the world and their deeper
